Role Purpose

The purpose of the Wall and Floor Tiler role at TILING SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is to carry out professional wall and floor tiling work for residential and commercial projects, ensuring accurate installation, quality workmanship, and compliance with building standards.

The role involves preparing surfaces, measuring and cutting tiles, applying adhesives, laying tiles, and completing grouting and finishing work while maintaining workplace safety, project efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and Measurement: Interpret project plans, identify tiling requirements, measure surfaces, and plan tile layouts.
• Surface Preparation: Remove old tiles, grout, and adhesives, repair cracks and holes, and prepare surfaces for installation.
• Waterproofing: Apply waterproofing systems to wet areas in accordance with relevant building standards and requirements.
• Tile Cutting: Measure, cut, and shape tiles to fit around edges, corners, pipes, and fixtures.
• Tile Installation: Apply adhesives, lay and secure wall and floor tiles, ensuring accurate alignment, spacing, and positioning.
• Grouting and Finishing: Apply grout, clean, polish, and finish tiled surfaces to achieve quality results.
• Tile Repairs: Inspect existing tiled surfaces, identify damage, and repair or replace tiles as required.
• Specialised Flooring: Lay granolithic, terrazzo, cement, and similar flooring materials where required.
• Decorative Tiling: Install coloured tiles and create decorative patterns and mosaics according to project specifications.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

Qualifications: Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent qualification.

Experience: Relevant experience in residential and commercial tiling projects.

Technical Skills: Ability to measure, cut, install, and replace wall and floor tiles.

Surface Preparation: Experience in tile removal, surface preparation, and levelling.

Waterproofing: Knowledge of wet-area waterproofing and safety standards.

Finishing: Skills in grouting, sealing, cladding, and tile repairs.

Workmanship: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Reliability: Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines.
