VP, Fund Accounting (Private Equity)

A top-tier financial services provider is looking to hire a Vice President, Fund Accounting – Private Equity to lead its private assets operations team. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone with deep fund accounting expertise, exceptional team management capabilities, and a strong understanding of private equity structures. You'll be responsible for overseeing client service delivery, operational effectiveness, and strategic initiatives within a dynamic, global environment. Work will be hybrid from their offices in Manhattan. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and oversee all aspects of fund accounting for private equity clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fund accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. * Review and approve financial statements, capital account statements, and other fund-related reports. * Ensure compliance with fund governing documents, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and other service providers. * Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. * Participate in the onboarding of new clients and funds, ensuring a smooth transition and integration. * Stay abreast of industry developments, including changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements. * Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to support the growth of the private equity business. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CA certification preferred. * 10+ years of experience in fund accounting, with a focus on private equity. * Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. * Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, including waterfall calculations, carried interest, and other complex financial instruments. * Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS. * Experience with fund accounting software and systems. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
