Fully Qualified Lawyer / Specialist Lawyer for Labor Law (m/f/d)

as a Referent for Labor Law and Tariffs (m/f/d) as soon as possible. The position is permanent and full-time (39 hours/week).

Responsibilities
  • You develop practice-oriented and legally sound solutions for complex issues in church labor, contract, and service law, taking into account legislation, case law, as well as the relevant regulations of TV-L, AVR, and DVO.
  • You actively contribute to shaping the labor, contract, and service law foundations for employment and service relationships in the Archdiocese and participate in the preparation of diocesan legislation in church labor and civil service law.
  • You advise the specialist departments of the Archbishop's General Vicariate, parishes, and church institutions on demanding labor, contract, and service law issues – with the goal of developing legally sound, practicable, and conflict-avoiding solutions.
  • You moderate and resolve labor and contract law conflicts, bring together different interests, and develop sustainable solution proposals.
  • You represent the employer interests of the diocesan corporations before the Church Labor Court and the state labor courts or prepare and professionally support the legal representation by external lawyers.
  • You support committee work in church labor law, prepare well-founded and implementation-oriented resolution proposals, and support the implementation of decisions into practice.
  • You advise the employer on matters concerning employee representative bodies, support participation procedures, and agreements.

Profile
  • You have a second state examination in law (fully qualified lawyer). A qualification as a specialist lawyer for labor law or comparable additional qualifications and knowledge are advantageous.
  • You have several years of relevant professional experience in labor law, ideally in the church or public sector.
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of labor and contract law, civil service law, works constitution law, and personnel representation law. Knowledge of Catholic canon law and especially church labor law according to the "Third Way" is desirable.
  • You have experience in forensic activities as well as in representing employer interests and are familiar with advising and supporting committees and participation procedures.
  • You are characterized by strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured, self-reliant, and reliable way of working.
  • You combine high communication and consulting competence with a strong solution and implementation orientation. You remain confident even in complex or conflict-ridden situations, constructively bring together different interests, and possess negotiation skills.
  • We welcome membership in and identification with the tasks, values, and principles of a Christian Church (ACK).
