What you will do

Your role as a civilian employee/ Aircraft Maintenance Technician F-35 B2 Electronic in the Royal Netherlands Air Force

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician F-35 B2 Electronic in the Royal Netherlands Air Force, you ensure that the advanced electronic systems of the F-35 continue to function safely and reliably. With your technical expertise, you directly contribute to the operational readiness of one of the most modern fighter aircraft in the world.

You independently perform maintenance, inspection, and repair work on the electronic systems of the F-35. You analyze and resolve malfunctions in, among other things, avionics, communication, navigation, sensor, and electrical systems. Using technical documentation, test equipment, and specialized tools, you determine the cause of problems and carry out the necessary work according to applicable regulations.

You check the operation and condition of electronic components and replace parts when they no longer meet the specified requirements. You identify and report technical deviations in a timely manner so that appropriate measures can be taken. You accurately record all work performed in the technical logbook and digital maintenance systems, ensuring that the maintenance history remains complete and reliable.

In addition to performing maintenance, you actively contribute to improvements in processes, work instructions, and technical procedures. You provide advice on the use of tools, materials, and test equipment and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.

As a B2 technician, you monitor the quality and progress of work within your area of expertise. You work according to technical regulations and safety guidelines and, where necessary, guide colleagues, interns, or new employees. For complex electronic malfunctions, you analyze the problem and work with the team to find a sustainable solution.

Department Description

980 Squadron (Aircraft & Helicopter Maintenance Squadron) is the specialized maintenance squadron within the Air Support Command of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The squadron provides intermediate and depot level maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and upgrades to Defense aviation systems, including the F-35.

Within 980 Squadron, you will work with experienced technicians and specialists who form the technical basis for the operational readiness of our aircraft and helicopters. With your contribution, you ensure that our aviation systems remain safe, reliable, and mission ready.
