Vivid Resourcing - Freelance IT Solution Architect (EU Secret Clearance)

As part of a consortium tender for a European organisation, we are searching for a freelance Solution Architect to be responsible for the design and governance of complex mission-critical IT systems in the defence sector. They align business and operational requirements with secure, scalable, and interoperable technical solutions that meet strict military/defence standards. Responsibilities * Translate operational and capability requirements into secure and compliant IT solutions * Design multi-domain, multi-technology solutions in accordance with architecture blueprints and roadmaps * Ensure solutions adhere to architecture and security standards and are aligned with EU and national regulations and industry best practices * Manage and govern all technical aspects of the solution, including security, performance, scalability, and integration * Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery * Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, vendors, and stakeholders * Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies * Create and maintain architecture documentation and artefacts Requirements * Proven experience as a Solution Architect with experience within the defence or government sector. * Must hold a current and valid EU Secret security clearance. * In-depth knowledge of IT architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. * Experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions, preferably in the defence or government sector. * Excellent understanding of security standards and regulations, including those related to the defence sector. * Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman is a plus. * Experience with cloud technologies is a plus.
