Job Objective

Perform activities of preparation, sowing, maintenance and care of milpas, plantations and nursery, ensuring the correct development of crops and ornamental plants, as well as the propagation of new plants.

Functions and Responsibilities

1. Prepare the soil in plots and areas of nursery by clearing, fertilizing, leveling and conditioning the soil.

1. Execute sowing, transplanting, irrigation, fertilization and weeding tasks in milpa, plantations and nursery.

1. Care for and supervise the germination and growth of seedlings in nursery, including transplanting to bags or pots.

1. Monitor the health of crops and seedlings, detecting pests, diseases and nutritional deficiencies.

1. Apply sustainable and traditional agricultural practices in milpa (maize, bean, squash and other associated crops).

1. Implement techniques for controlling weeds and conserving moisture.

1. Operate and perform basic maintenance on manual and motorized field tools and nursery equipment.

1. Support in harvesting, storage and transplanting of plants from nursery to field.

1. Report necessary supplies (seeds, fertilizers, substrates, nursery bags, tools, etc).

Requirements for the Position

• Education: Secondary education completed (desirable).

• Experience: 1-2 years in agriculture, milpa management, nursery or gardens.

• Knowledge:

• Sowing and crop rotation techniques.

• Basic management of nurseries (substrates, germination, transplanting).

• Identification of pests and diseases in vegetation.

• Use and maintenance of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, gravity).

• Preparation and application of organic fertilizers and pesticides.

• Skills:

• Good physical condition and resistance for field work.

• Organization and care in nursery tasks.

• Attention to detail.

• Responsibility and commitment.
