Visual Art Specialist (PYP)

Overview The PYP Visual Art Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality visual arts instruction and ensuring the holistic development of students across assigned classes. The specialist is expected to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment while upholding the school’s mission, vision, and values. As a member of the school community, the Visual Art Specialist carries professional responsibilities toward students, colleagues, the institution, and the wider community. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement visual arts curriculum that aligns with the PYP framework and school goals. • Design and deliver engaging visual arts lessons for students in assigned classes. • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate visual arts with other subjects. • Provide individualized support and feedback to students to help them achieve their artistic goals. • Participate in school-wide events and exhibitions to showcase student artwork and celebrate the importance of visual arts education. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field. • 3+ years of experience teaching visual arts in a K-12 setting. • Strong understanding of the PYP framework and its application in visual arts instruction. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. • Familiarity with digital tools and software for art creation and presentation.
