Video Editor / Cutter (m/w/d) Social Media Content - Werkstudent oder Praktikant (Mainz / Remote)

You love short videos and have fun cutting strong clips from raw material? You hear a beat and see the cut already in your head? If others are still rough-cutting, you're already fine-tuning – with sound design, motion details, and timing down to the frame?

Then come to Investmentbuilder and work in our Social Media Team on viral going videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

We're looking for either a student (m/w/d) or an intern (m/w/d) – depending on what fits you best. (Internship preferably full-time, student flexible alongside studies.)
Workplace: in Mainz (Office) or remote.

Tasks

• Edit & Post-production of Short-Form-Content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) – especially Talking-Head, Podcast-/Interview-Snippets, B-Roll
• Picking the best scenes and building a clear story
• Bulding hook-strong Intros (the first 1–2 seconds are your playground)
• Adding music, sound effects, subtitles, and easy animations/motion elements
• Creating subtitles/captions (readable, dynamic, fitting the branding)
• Optimizing for performance: high watch time, strong hooks, clean pattern interrupts, good timing, clear message
• Template/system thinking: reusable caption styles, branding elements, faster workflows
• Structured filing of files, assets, and projects (folder structure, versioning, handovers)
• Pacing & Storytelling: tempo, jump cuts, pattern interrupts, image changes, zooms, fade-ins
• Optional: Supporting on shoot days (e.g. camera assistance, material check, set organization)

Qualification

• First experience in video editing, e.g., with Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar tools
• Very good sense for cut, timing, and social media storytelling
• You know current trends on TikTok/Instagram Reels/YouTube Shorts – and can implement them fittingly to the brand
• High willingness to learn, self-initiative, and a quality claim that is visible
• Structured, reliable, clean working style (you keep order in the project chaos)
• Good German skills (at least B2)
• Bonus, if you've already worked with AI tools (e.g. subtitles, cut optimization, thumbnails, text/hook variants)
• Newcomers and career changers welcome, if output & performance match
• Important: Portfolio/Showreel (even small) is more important to us than a perfect CV
