Vice President, Global Trade Finance, Strategic Business Planning & Promotion - SMBC - Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation

Job Responsibilities Strategic Initiative Support Develop materials to support internal strategic initiatives and business planning related to trade finance and adjacent businesses, such as flow banking (including deposit mobilization and FX transaction growth). Conduct industry and market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Collaborate with internal planning teams, country partners, and in-country coverage teams across regions (not limited to APAC) to formulate actionable strategic plans and business development initiatives. Financial Analysis Perform financial modeling and analysis to evaluate the profitability and return on investment of various strategic initiatives. Prepare presentations and reports summarizing key findings and recommendations for senior management. Business Development Support Support the development and execution of business development strategies to expand the bank's global trade finance footprint. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential partnerships, acquisitions, and new product offerings. Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and other stakeholders. Promotion and Marketing Support Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities to raise awareness of the bank's global trade finance capabilities. Create marketing materials, such as brochures, presentations, and website content. Represent the bank at industry events and conferences. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in trade finance, with a strong understanding of trade finance products, services, and markets. Proven track record of developing and executing successful strategic plans and business development initiatives. Strong financial analysis and modeling skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver effective presentations. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to travel internationally as needed. Experience with flow banking, deposit mobilization, and FX transaction growth is a plus. Experience with APAC region is a plus.
