Vice Capoturno - Caronno Pertusella (VA)

Objective of the Role

The Vice Capoturno supports the production activities of chemical plants for API synthesis and finishing, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. In the absence of the Capoturno, assumes responsibility for the shift, coordinating the operational team and supervising production activities.

Main Responsibilities

• Satisfies production targets for the shift.
• Oversees production activities, ensuring compliance with productive and safety parameters, coordinating, guiding, and controlling operators.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, health, and risk of significant incident regulations in the production department.
• Ensures application of good manufacturing practices (GMP) in the production department.
• Takes care of operator training on all aspects of production.
• Verifies correct execution of maintenance work.
• Ensures daily cleaning activities in production areas.
• In case of emergency, performs necessary interventions and evaluates the need to involve superiors.
• Exercises the role of 'coach' with own operators.
• Reviews all documentation related to production lots and plants (batch card, log book, etc.) according to current regulations and procedures.
• Opens maintenance requests on Priority system.
• Verifies correctness of raw materials used.
• Coordinates and verifies internal process control (IPC) within the department, where applicable.
• Conducts shift change meetings and plans operator activities for the shift.
• Coordinates thermal power plant operation and alarm management, where applicable.
• Uses assigned tools to resolve problems.
• Coordinates emergency team activities, where applicable.
• Sends reports on near-miss incidents, situations that may lead to actions or non-safe situations, and suggests improvements in health, safety, environment, and risk prevention.
• Applies and monitors procedure and standard application, with particular regard to aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Environmental Protection, and Risk Prevention, sensitizing workers and reporting any non-conformities to the supervisor.
• In their capacity as Foreman and in relation to legislative provisions on workplace health and safety (D.lgs. 81/08) as well as environmental protection and risk prevention, oversees the work activity of collaborators and ensures the implementation of received directives, controlling their correct execution.
