Army Soldier Infantry - CV90 Driver

Have you (almost) completed your VeVa GROP level 2 training? Are you now looking for a position within the Dutch Armed Forces that aligns with it? As a CV-90 Driver, you will go with your team in an armored vehicle to the place of action, where you will engage in ground combat.

What you will do

The infantry of the Royal Netherlands Army is formed by soldiers who conduct ground combat. The armored infantry is often deployed in complex terrain, such as forest areas, villages, and cities.
They work with the armored CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle. The CV-90 can transport infantry soldiers to and from the front and actively participate in combat itself.

As a CV-90 Driver, you are part of a team of 3 soldiers who jointly operate the vehicle. As the driver, you and the vehicle commander are responsible for the 35mm rapid-fire cannon and a MAG 7.62mm machine gun with which the vehicle is also equipped. You perform your tasks in and around the vehicle. For example, you fire the cannon, maintain the vehicle, and know how to camouflage it effectively when necessary. Additionally, you are of course an infantry soldier and regularly train in operating without a vehicle.

Please note: There are multiple intake dates (start dates) throughout the year. The intake date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Investigation. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.

Where you will work

You will work at the 43 Mechanized Brigade in Havelte.

After enlistment, you will first follow the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Oirschot or Assen. After completion, you will start the Maneuver Function Training School South in Oirschot or at School North in Assen. If you do not yet have a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driver training at the Driver Training and Education Center in Oirschot. The training lasts approximately 10 months in total.

The infantry battalion of the Brigade to which you will be assigned will further train you on the various weapon systems of the infantry squad, such as the MAG machine gun, Panzerfaust, the (V) SRAT, and of course the CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

As a Soldier, you participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like every Soldier, you may be deployed abroad.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will grow with you. In addition to your salary, as a soldier, you also receive various structural and incidental allowances. The salaries listed on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance. More info

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? You can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
