VeVa Soldier Driver Swap Body System
Job description
Introductory text
Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training Logistics or GROP level 2? Are you adventurous, not afraid to get your hands dirty, and have you always wanted to drive a cool container truck? Then this is your chance! Because the Army is looking for drivers!
What you will do
As a Soldier Driver Swap Body System, you are responsible for your own vehicle, cargo, and the execution of trips. Your cargo can consist of goods, but also personnel. You will drive trips in support of all defense components at home and abroad. Supporting exercises and missions is also part of your task. During all these transport assignments, goods are transported in containers and on flat racks using trucks with a swap body system. By means of the swap body system, you are not dependent on external parties for loading your cargo and can transport all types of cargo. Think of food and drinks, spare parts, but also fuel and ammunition for military operations.
When you have gained sufficient driving experience as a road transport driver, you can advance to (leading) corporal or further as a driver of a heavy tractor with semi-trailer in a Heavy Transport Company. You can also advance to (non-commissioned) officer. The minimum requirements to advance as a non-commissioned officer are VMBO GL/TL. To advance as an officer, you must have at least a Bachelor's degree.
Upon commencement of the position (after completing the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) and vocational training), you must possess a Civilian Driver's License B. If you do not have this, Defensie will help you obtain the license and cover the costs. However, you are responsible for obtaining the license in a timely manner.
Please note: There are multiple intake moments (start dates) per year. The intake date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Examination, the Medical Examination, and the security investigation. Once all parts of the application process have been positively completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.
Where you will work
You will work at the Supply and Transport Command (B&TCo). This is THE logistics unit of the Royal Netherlands Army. The B&TCo has its main location at Generaal-majoor Kootkazerne in Stroe. In addition, there are several smaller transport units spread across the Netherlands, where you may end up after your starting position as a driver or planner.
After joining, you will first follow the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Oirschot or Assen. After completion, you will start with the vocational training. If you do not yet have a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Center in Oirschot. The training lasts approximately 10 months in total.
As a Military Personnel, you will participate in various exercises. Additionally, you must take into account that, like all Military Personnel, you may be deployed abroad.
MBO 2, MBO 3 You are between 17 years and 28 years and 11 months old Wearing glasses or contact lenses is not a problem.MBO-2 (all directions) Must possess Civilian Driver's License B
