Have you (almost) completed your VeVa ICT level 3 training? And are you now looking for a position in the Armed Forces that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer of the Communications Service (ICT) in the Air Mobile Brigade, you will lead a team responsible for ICT and communications.

What you will do

The Air Mobile Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on location anywhere in the world within 20 days to provide assistance or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee rapid troop deployment for the Air Mobile Brigade and also ensure the transport of weapons, equipment, food, and other supplies.

The Communications Service installs, operates, and maintains all telecommunication equipment and connections within the Royal Netherlands Army. This ranges from telephones, fax machines, and computers to radio and satellite connections. The Communications Service also handles mail delivery. The work is primarily carried out during exercises and deployments.

As a Non-Commissioned Officer of the Communications Service (ICT) in the Air Mobile Brigade, you will lead a team responsible for multiple means of communication. You will not only be able to operate the equipment present within the group but also train your personnel so that they can operate the systems as well.

Please note: There are multiple intake moments (start dates) per year. The intake date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Screening. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and agreed upon with you.

Where you will work

Depending on your preference and the opportunities within the organization, you will work at the Air Mobile Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen.

Upon enlistment, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. After completion, you will start the vocational training at the Defense Training and Education Center for the Communications Service in Ede. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driver's training at the Driver Training and Education Center in Oirschot.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Additionally, you must take into account that, like every Soldier, you may be deployed.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow with you. In addition to your salary, as a soldier, you will receive various structural and incidental allowances. The salaries mentioned on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance. During your period of service (including your initial training), you will build up an annual (gross) appointment premium/bonus in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your period of service, unless you wish to receive an advance payment in the meantime.

With a full-time employment contract, depending on your age, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
