Have you (almost) completed your VeVa Mechatronics level 3 training and are you now looking for a position with the Defense organization that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Mechanic Electronic Systems in the Army, you work as a mechanic on everything that involves electrical engineering, but you are also a supervisor.

What you will do

During a deployment or exercise, but also at the barracks, a considerable amount of equipment can break down. That is why the Army has repair units, which are responsible for the maintenance and repair of wheeled and tracked vehicles, artillery, weapons and weapon systems, instruments, communication equipment, and generators. This also includes all electrical engineering components.

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Mechanic Electronic Systems, you are both a mechanic and a supervisor of a group of electrical mechanics. In a deployment area, you will, for example, deal with defective equipment, from onboard computers to washing machines. You will also regularly train in larger team settings, both domestically and abroad. You are responsible for the group materiel entrusted to you, such as vehicles with associated weapons, communication equipment, and tools. As a commander, you will also provide training for your personnel.

Please note: There are multiple enlistment dates (start dates) per year. The enlistment date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the outcome of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Clearance. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and finalized with you.

Where you will work

You will work at one of the repair units of the Royal Netherlands Army. These units are located at a large number of locations in the country.

After enlistment, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. Then, you will follow the job-specific training at the Training and Education Center Logistics/Technical Service in Soesterberg. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driver's training at the Training and Education Center Driving in Oirschot.

As a Military member, you participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Military member, you may be deployed.

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will grow with you. On top of your salary, as a military member, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. The VEB allowance is already included in the salaries mentioned on werkenbijdefensie.nl. More information

During your service obligation (including your initial training), you will build up an annual (gross) enlistment premium/bonus, in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your service obligation, unless you wish to receive an advance payment in the meantime.

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 days of leave per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
