Job description
Introductory text
Have you (almost) completed your VeVa Ground Operations Level 3 training? And are you now looking for a position within Defence that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will lead a team of two or three people who operate the Stinger missile system.
What you will do
As part of the Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command, Air Defence Artillery protects military and civilian targets against attacks from low-flying aircraft and cruise missiles. For this, it uses the Stinger, an infrared-guided missile system that can be mounted on a light all-terrain vehicle or an armored vehicle. The Stinger can also be fired from the shoulder.
As a Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will become the team leader of a Stinger group, which consists of two Stinger teams of two or three people. A Stinger team consists at least of a vehicle, a Stinger, a team leader, and a driver/gunner. The teams alternate, making 24-hour deployment possible. As an experienced Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will lead approximately 10 soldiers and corporals during crisis management operations and act as a group commander. Together with your group, you will conduct patrols, man roadblocks, and search houses. Naturally, you will also provide leadership during activities at the barracks and during exercises. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the readiness of your personnel and their training in individual military skills.
Please note: There are multiple enlistment moments (start dates) throughout the year. The enlistment date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends on, among other things, the outcome of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Investigation. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.
Where you will work
You will work at the Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command at the Lieutenant-General Best Barracks in Vredepeel.
After entering service, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. After completion, you will start the specialized training at the Lieutenant-General Best Barracks. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will also follow the driver training at the Driving Training and Education Centre in Oirschot.
As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Additionally, you must take into account that you, like every Soldier, can be deployed abroad.
€3,400 ~ €4,250 salary 23 ~ 30 days off per year Get your driver's license for free Location: ErmeloYour starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow. On top of your salary, as a soldier, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. With full-time employment, you are entitled to 23-30 days of leave per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then, under certain conditions, you can carry them over to the next year.
