Have you (almost) completed your VeVa Ground Operations level 3 training? And are you now looking for a position within the Defense organization that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will lead a team of two or three people who operate the Stinger missile system.

What you will do

As part of the Defense Ground-Based Air Defence Command, Air Defence Artillery protects military and civilian targets against attacks from low-flying aircraft and cruise missiles. For this, it uses the Stinger, an infrared-guided missile system that can be mounted on a light terrain vehicle or an armored vehicle. The Stinger can also be fired from the shoulder.

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will become the team leader of a Stinger group, which consists of two Stinger teams of two or three people. A Stinger team consists of at least a vehicle, a Stinger, a team leader, and a driver/gunner. The teams alternate, enabling 24-hour deployment. As an experienced Non-Commissioned Officer Air Defence Artillery, you will lead approximately 10 soldiers and corporals during crisis management operations and act as a group commander. Together with your group, you will conduct patrols, man roadblocks, and search houses. Naturally, you will also lead during activities at the barracks and during exercises. Furthermore, you are responsible for the readiness of your personnel and provide their training in individual military skills.

Note: There are multiple induction dates (start dates) per year. The induction date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Screening. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and finalized with you.

Where you will work

You will work at the Defense Ground-Based Air Defence Command at the Luitenant-generaal Bestkazerne in Vredepeel.

Upon entering service, you will first complete the Non-Commissioned Officers training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. After completion, you will start the vocational training at the Luitenant-generaal Bestkazerne. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will also complete the driver training at the Driver Training and Education Center in Oirschot.

As a soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Additionally, you must take into account that, like any soldier, you may be deployed abroad.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow.
