VeVa Sergeant Infantry

Introduction

Have you (almost) completed your VeVa GROP level 3 training? Are you now looking for a role within the Ministry of Defence that aligns with it? As an Infantry Sergeant, you will lead a group of ten people who conduct ground combat.

What you will do

As an Infantry Sergeant, you will become a skilled professional, leader, and instructor. You will lead a group of eight to ten infantry soldiers. The Army's infantry is formed by soldiers who conduct ground combat. For this, they are equipped with automatic and semi-automatic firearms, mortars, and anti-tank vehicles. Furthermore, the infantry possesses advanced communication and laser equipment, as well as all sorts of night vision equipment. As an infantry soldier, you are equipped with very modern material to conduct ground combat.

Operations often take place in a team setting and frequently in complex terrain such as woodlands, villages, and cities. As a sergeant, you are the expert on all the means and capabilities of your group. You can not only operate the material present within the group but also train your people so they can operate the systems as well. In your first role as a sergeant, you will work as the leader of your own group of infantry soldiers!

Where you will work

You will work at a unit of the 13 Light Brigade in Oirschot or the 43 Mechanized Brigade in Havelte.

After entering service, you will first complete the Non-Commissioned Officer Training at the Royal Military School (KMS) in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. After completion, you will start the technical training (VTO) at the Maneuver school in Amersfoort. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will also complete the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Centre in Oirschot.

As a soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Additionally, you must take into account that, like every soldier, you may be deployed.

€3,300 ~ €3,650 salary 23 ~ 30 days off per year Obtain your driver's license for free Location: Ermelo

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will grow with you. On top of your salary, as a soldier, you will receive various structural and incidental allowances. The salaries mentioned on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance. More info

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? You can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.

After completing two positions at an active unit, you will work as an instructor at a school battalion.

In the future, you will work as a Sergeant Major for training, responsible for organizing exercises and training sessions for your unit.
