Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training GROP level 3? Are you now looking for a position within Defense that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Infantry Air Assault, you will lead a group of eight people and be flown in all over the world to engage in combat on the ground.

What you will do

The Air Assault Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on location anywhere in the world within 20 days to provide assistance or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee the Air Assault Brigade rapid troop deployment and also ensure the transport of weapons, materiel, food, and other supplies.

The infantry of the Army is formed by soldiers who conduct ground combat. For this, infantry soldiers are equipped with automatic and semi-automatic firearms, mortars, and anti-tank weapons. In addition, the infantry has advanced communication and laser equipment, and all kinds of night vision equipment.

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Infantry Air Assault, you will lead a group of eight people. The infantry soldiers are equipped with very modern materiel to conduct ground combat. Operations are often conducted in teams. As a non-commissioned officer, you are the expert in all means and capabilities of your group. You can not only operate the materiel present within the group but also train your people, so they can operate the systems as well.

Where you will work

Depending on your preference and the available space within the organization, you will work at the Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen. At 11 Infantry Battalion Garde Grenadiers and Jagers, at 12 Infantry Battalion Regiment Van Heutsz in Schaarsbergen, or at 13 Infantry Battalion Regiment Stoottroepen Prins Bernhard in Assen of 11 Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen.

After entering service, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, (Assen, Schaarsbergen, Oirschot) where you will learn all basic military skills. This training lasts 42 weeks. After completion, you will start with the technical training (VTO) at the Maneuver School in Amersfoort; the training will partly take place in Schaarsbergen. This training lasts 38 weeks. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Center in Oirschot.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Soldier, you may be deployed on missions.

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow. With a full-time employment, you are entitled to 23-30 days of leave per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
