Job description
Introduction
Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training GROP level 3? Are you now looking for a position within the Ministry of Defence that aligns with it? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Cavalry Reconnaissance in the Air Assault Brigade, you will lead a unit of three people who gather information about the enemy.
What you will do
The Air Assault Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on-site anywhere in the world within 20 days to provide assistance or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee rapid troop deployment for the Air Assault Brigade and also ensure the transport of weapons, materiel, food, and other supplies.
The reconnaissance units of the Cavalry provide information from the front. The soldiers of this unit are, as it were, the eyes and ears of a Mechanized Brigade. The reconnaissance units do not move in tanks, but in Fennek reconnaissance vehicles. With the Air Assault Brigade, you do this by helicopter.
As a Non-Commissioned Officer Cavalry Reconnaissance in the Air Assault Brigade, you will lead a reconnaissance unit of three people. Together with your team, you will gather data on the enemy's strength, location, and plans. In Fennek armored vehicles, you will search for command posts and logistical facilities and reconnoiter bridges and routes. You may also be deployed to defend the brigade's front and flanks and for surveillance missions. You can not only operate the equipment available within the group (such as anti-tank systems and onboard weapons) but also train your personnel so that they can operate the systems as well.
Where you will work
Depending on your preference and the available capacity within the organization, you will work at the Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen.
After joining, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. After completion, you will start the specialized training at the Defence Training and Education Centre Manoeuvre in Amersfoort. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driver training at the Driver Training and Education Centre in Oirschot.
As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Soldier, you may be deployed abroad.
€3,400 ~ €4,250 salary 23 ~ 30 days off per year Get your driver's license for free Location: ErmeloYour starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will grow with you. In addition to your salary, as a soldier, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. With a full-time contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? You can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
Don't have a driver's license yet? Get it for free at Defence! We are happy to help you move forward, and not just when it comes to your career. If you come to work for the Navy, Army, Air Force, or Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, you can therefore obtain your B driver's license at our expense.
