Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training GROP level 3? Are you someone who takes initiative, doesn't give up, is curious by nature, and is looking for an exciting leadership position? Then a job as a Junior Officer Cavalry Tank at a Dutch tank unit in Germany might be for you!

What you will do

As a Junior Officer Cavalry Tank (Leopard 2A6), you will lead your tank crew consisting of the driver, the gunner, and the loader. Your task includes training your personnel up to Level II (basic military skills at squad level), coordinating tank maintenance, and leading the crew. This means you are responsible for, among other things, aligning, interpreting, and executing the training plan for your personnel, and for checking and ensuring that maintenance tasks are carried out. On the instructions of your platoon commander, you will make decisions regarding the execution of the tasks assigned to you. In short, a responsible and versatile role!

With your team, you will be part of a German Armored Battalion, which in turn falls under a Mechanized Brigade (Mechbrig); this brigade conducts combat operations in all types of operations and is specifically equipped for land operations. Additionally, the unit can be placed under command as part of a Task Force or a Battalion Task Group. The objective of the Dutch contribution to the German Armored Battalion is to maintain knowledge of the operations of tank units from battalion level down to the level of a single tank.

Please note: There are multiple start dates throughout the year. The start date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Examination, the Medical Examination, and the Security Clearance. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and finalized with you.

Where you will work

You will work at the German 414 Panzerbataillon. This unit, belonging to the 43 (NL) Mechanized Brigade, is stationed in Lohheide, Germany, with 4 companies. One of these companies is a Dutch unit.

After entering service, you will first complete your non-commissioned officer training at the German Military Academy in Munster. After completion, you will receive technical training (in Germany). Please note that after your appointment, you will attend various German courses and training within your field.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Soldier, you may be deployed on missions.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow with you. In addition to your salary, as a soldier, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. The salaries listed on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance. More info

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
