As a Marine Auto Mechanic, you will work on materiel that is essential for the missions and operations of the Korps Mariniers. Thanks to your craftsmanship, vehicles remain deployable, anywhere in the world. What you will do

Ready for an adventure where technology, action, and teamwork come together? As a Marine Auto Mechanic, you will start with an intensive and challenging training program that fully prepares you for working within the Korps Mariniers.

You start with the Marine Training in Rotterdam (24 weeks), during which you will be physically and mentally challenged. Think of rifle training, amphibious skills, basic helicopter training, heavy field weeks, and a three-week mountain training abroad. Afterwards, you will follow the MARSOC Operator Course of 16 weeks, followed by a specialization where you will further develop your craft.

After your training, you will start working as a Marine Auto Mechanic. You will ensure that vehicles are always deployable, so that units can operate worldwide immediately. Whether it's a mission or a rapid deployment within 48 hours: thanks to you, everything keeps running.

You combine high-level technology with the military profession. You maintain and repair vehicles under difficult conditions and support your team where necessary with logistics and transport. A role in which you are continuously challenged and always ready for action.

Where you will work

At the Korps Mariniers, the world literally lies at your feet. Under the motto ‘Qua Patet Orbis’ (as far as the world stretches), you will be deployed where your contribution is needed: from international peacekeeping operations to specialized missions.

During training and exercises, you will also be regularly far from home, for example in the mountains of Norway, in the Antilles, or in Martinique. No day and no location is the same, but everywhere you will work with your team towards one mission.

Furthermore, you will have ample opportunity to develop yourself with further training and specializations, such as recovery specialist, battlefield damage repair, or metalworking and welding. This way, you continue to grow in your profession and get the most out of yourself.

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow. During your period of service (including your initial training), you will build up an annual gross employment premium/bonus, in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your period of service, unless you wish to receive an advance payment in the meantime.

With a full-time contract, you are entitled to 23-30 days of leave per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.

As a Marine Auto Mechanic, you will maintain the vehicles of the Korps Mariniers. You will also perform supporting (administrative) tasks, such as driving, supply, and warehouse duties.

After your promotion to corporal in the Korps Mariniers, you will lead a team of mechanics.
