VeVa Marine Automotive Technician
Job description
Introduction
Vehicles that must perform under all conditions demand real doers with a passion for technology. As a Marine Automotive Technician, you work on equipment that is essential for the missions and operations of the Netherlands Marine Corps. Thanks to your craftsmanship, vehicles remain deployable, anywhere in the world. Are you technically minded, do you love a challenge, and do you want to work in a close-knit team where action, responsibility, and camaraderie are central? Then this is your chance.
What you will do
Ready for an adventure where technology, action, and teamwork come together? As a Marine Automotive Technician, you will start with an intensive and challenging training program that fully prepares you for working within the Netherlands Marine Corps.
You start with the Marine Training in Rotterdam (24 weeks), during which you will be physically and mentally challenged. Think of shooting training, amphibious skills, basic helicopter training, tough field weeks, and a three-week mountain training abroad. After that, you will follow the MARSOC Operator Course of 16 weeks, followed by a specialization in which you will further develop your skills.
After your training, you will start as a Marine Automotive Technician. You ensure that vehicles are always deployable, so that units can operate worldwide immediately. Whether it's a mission or a rapid deployment within 48 hours: thanks to you, everything keeps running.
You combine high-level technology with the military profession. You maintain and repair vehicles under harsh conditions and support your team where needed with logistics and transport. A role in which you are constantly challenged and always ready for action.
Where you will work
At the Netherlands Marine Corps, the world is literally at your feet. Under the motto ‘Qua Patet Orbis’ (as wide as the world extends), you will be deployed where your contribution is needed: from international peacekeeping operations to specialized missions.
During training and exercises, you will also be regularly far from home, for example in the mountains of Norway, the Antilles, or Martinique. No day and no location is the same, but everywhere you work with your team towards one mission.
In addition, you will have ample opportunity to develop yourself with further training and specializations, such as recovery specialist, battlefield damage repair, or metalworking and welding. This way, you continue to grow in your profession and get the most out of yourself.
€3,100 ~ €3,400 salary €6,000 bonus per year 23 ~ 30 days off per year Get your driver's license for free Location: Doorn, RotterdamYour starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow with you. In addition to your salary, as a military member, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. The salaries mentioned on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance. More info
During your service obligation (including your initial training), you will build up an annual (gross) appointment premium/bonus in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your service obligation, unless you want to receive an advance payment in the meantime.
With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then, under certain conditions, you can carry them over to the next year.
