Introduction

If you are hired for this position, you will be employed by the Ministry of Defence with the job title 'Corporal Electrician'. What you will do

The Technical Service maintains and repairs the Army's equipment, often using the latest technology.

As a Corporal Electrician, you work as a technical specialist in the part of the Army that maintains and repairs equipment. You will focus particularly on the deployability of modern communication systems, such as (long range) radio and dish systems for both the individual soldier and vehicle-mounted systems. Inspecting communication equipment and performing maintenance and repairs, anywhere and under all circumstances, is part of your daily tasks. Before you start, you will follow a recognized vocational training course as a technical specialist and be trained as a soldier. That military part includes mastering your personal weapon and camouflaging and securing your equipment and vehicle.

Please note: There are multiple start dates (commencement dates) throughout the year. The commencement date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Clearance. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.

Where you will work

You will work at a repair unit of the Light Brigade in Oirschot, Stroe, De Peel, Wezep, or 't Harde, at the Mechanized Brigade in Havelte, or the Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen.

After entering service, you will first complete the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Oirschot or Assen. After completion, you will start with the job-specific training at the Logistics Training and Education Centre in Soesterberg. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will also complete the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Centre in Oirschot. The training will take approximately 10 months in total.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you should take into account that, like every Soldier, you may be deployed abroad.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow. During your term of service (including your initial training), you will build up an annual (gross) appointment premium/bonus in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your term of service, unless you wish to receive an advance payment.

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 days of leave per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then, under certain conditions, you can carry them over to the next year.
