Have you (almost) completed your VeVa Zorg IG level 3 training? Are you now looking for a position within the Ministry of Defence that aligns with it? As a Corporal Medical Caregiver/VIG, you have an assisting role in military healthcare, thereby making a significant contribution to medical services during exercises and deployments.

What you will do

If you are hired for this position, you will be appointed within the Ministry of Defence with the job title 'Medical Caregiver Individual Healthcare (VIG)'.

The Air Assault Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on location anywhere in the world within 20 days to provide assistance or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee the Air Assault Brigade rapid troop deployment and also ensure the transport of weapons, equipment, food, and other supplies. The Medical Company within the Air Assault Brigade is responsible for medical care.

As a Corporal Medical Caregiver/VIG, you are part of a medical unit. During exercises and deployments, such a unit establishes a complete sick bay with operating rooms, treatment rooms, and intensive care units. You will support and assist doctors and nurses. You will care for the wounded and make them ready for transport if necessary. Other tasks you perform include maintenance of equipment and the establishment, operational readiness, and dismantling of a mobile medical facility. This also includes aspects like security and camouflage.

Note: There are multiple induction dates (start dates) per year. The induction date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the outcome of the Psychological Examination, the Medical Examination, and the security screening. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.

Where you will work

You will work at a medical unit of the Air Assault Brigade in Assen or Schaarsbergen.

After you join, you will first follow the General Military Training Air Assault (AMOL) in Schaarsbergen. In the AMOL, you will be trained to be able to operate as an individual soldier in an operational area and function within a military organization. After completion, you will start with the job-specific training at the Defence Healthcare Training and Education Centre in Hilversum. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will also follow the driver's training at the Driver Training and Education Centre in Oirschot. The training lasts approximately 10 months in total.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like every Soldier, you may be deployed.

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow.
