VeVa Corporal Mechanic

Introduction
Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training in Commercial Vehicle Technology level 2? With this diploma, you can of course get a job at a local garage or a large car dealership, but what about working on vehicles you won't find at any other company? As a Corporal Mechanic in the Royal Netherlands Army, you ensure that everything on wheels keeps running smoothly. From Boxers and Bushmasters to battle tanks and recovery vehicles.
What you will do
As a Corporal Mechanic, you will perform maintenance and repair work on the wheeled vehicles used by the Army. Think of trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and armored vehicles, but also motorcycles and recovery vehicles. Your work mainly consists of assembling/disassembling components, performing repairs, and providing other manual assistance. Because you are a technician as well as a soldier, your tasks also include handling your personal weapon and camouflaging and securing your own equipment.
Note: There are multiple intake dates (start dates) per year. The intake date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends on, among other things, the results of the Psychological Examination, the Medical Examination, and the Security Clearance. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and finalized with you.
Where you will work
You will work at a repair unit attached to the 13 Light Brigade, 43 Mechanized Brigade, or at the Operational Support Command Army (OOCL).
After entering service, you will first complete the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Oirschot, Ermelo, or Assen. After completion, you will start the specialized training at the Logistics Training and Education Center in Soesterberg. If you do not yet have a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Center in Oirschot. The training takes approximately 10 months in total.
As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Soldier, you may be deployed on missions.

During your period of service (including your initial training), you will accrue an annual (gross) appointment premium/bonus in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your period of service, unless you wish to receive an advance payment in the meantime.
With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Then you can carry them over to the next year under certain conditions.
