VeVa Corporal Automotive Technician - Air Assault

Have you (almost) completed your VeVa training in Commercial Vehicle Technology level 2? Are you now looking for a position within the Ministry of Defence that aligns with this? As an Air Assault Corporal Automotive Technician, you will ensure that everything on wheels of the Air Assault Brigade keeps running smoothly.

What you will do

The Air Assault Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on-site anywhere in the world within 20 days. For example, to provide aid or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee rapid troop deployment for the Air Assault Brigade. They also ensure the transport of weapons, equipment, food, and other supplies. The Technical Service is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment. This includes vehicles, weapon systems, and other technical equipment.

As a Corporal Automotive Technician, you will perform maintenance and repair work on the wheeled vehicles used by the Army. Think of trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and armored vehicles, but also motorcycles and tow trucks. Your work will mainly consist of disassembling and assembling components, carrying out repairs, and providing other hands-on assistance. Because you are not only a technical expert but also a soldier, your tasks will also include mastering your personal weapon and camouflaging and securing your own equipment.

Upon commencement of the position (after completing the General Military Training and job-specific training), you must possess a civilian driver's license B. If you do not have one, Defence will help you obtain the license and cover the costs. However, you are responsible for obtaining the license in a timely manner.

Please note: There are multiple intake moments (start dates) throughout the year. The intake date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Check. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and confirmed with you.

Where you will work

You will work at the Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen.

After entering service, you will first complete the General Military Training Air Assault (AMOL) in Schaarsbergen or Assen. In the AMOL, you will be trained to be able to operate as an individual soldier in an operational area and function within a military organization. After completion, you will start with the job-specific training at the Logistics Training and Education Centre in Soesterberg. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow the driving training at the Driving Training and Education Centre in Oirschot. The training will take approximately 10 months in total.

As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any Soldier, you may be deployed abroad.

Your starting salary depends on your age, educational level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, your salary will also grow. In addition to your salary, as a soldier, you will also receive various structural and incidental allowances. The VEB allowance is already included in the salaries mentioned on werkenbijdefensie.nl. During your service commitment (including your initial training), you will accumulate an annual (gross) engagement bonus/premium in addition to your salary. This will be paid out at the end of your service commitment, unless you wish to receive an advance payment in the meantime.

With a full-time employment contract, you are entitled to 23-30 vacation days per year, depending on your age. Do you have days left over? Under certain conditions, you can carry them over to the next year.

VeVa MBO-2 Commercial Vehicle Technology Must possess civilian driver's license B

As an Air Assault Corporal Automotive Technician, you will perform maintenance and repair work on trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and armored vehicles of the 11th Air Assault Brigade.

After this, if you are suitable, you can advance to the position of non-commissioned officer. You will then lead a team of technicians.
