What do you do?

Do you want to apply your language skills in one or more languages from the Sahel region (Bambara, Peul-Fula, Tamasheq) and contribute to the protection of Belgium? The mission of ADIV is to collect and analyze information related to national security and the execution of tasks by the armed forces. Within ADIV is the CSCU (Cyber SIGINT Collection Unit), under the Cyber Command, responsible for intercepting communication sent and received abroad, under strict legal conditions and parliamentary control. As a translator-analyst at the CSCU, you are an essential member of our intelligence analysis team and responsible for providing important linguistic expertise to support national security efforts. No work experience is required.

You possess one of the following diplomas: master in the domain of language- and/or literature - specialization Bambara / Peul-Fula / Tamasheq (Regio Sahel); master in translation - specialization Bambara / Peul-Fula / Tamasheq (Regio Sahel) or an equivalent diploma.

Qualifications

Military basic training (MBV)

This training takes place at a military camp in Belgium for about 4 months, starting with a military initiation phase, where you work on your physical condition and learn military basic skills. Then follows a basic training course for officers. During this period, you will be accommodated at an internat.

Specialized professional training (GPV)

You follow, within your future unit, a training 'on the job' of about 6 months during which you will develop new competencies that are more specifically linked to the military environment, you will familiarize yourself with your future role and you will concretely apply your earlier acquired competencies, gained during your training in civilian life, as well as your competencies acquired during military basic training.

Internship and/or evaluation period

You can really get started on your work site, first under guidance and then independently.
