Permit Manager Hydrogen Network
Job description
For Gasunie we are looking for a Permit Manager Hydrogen Network. As a legal employee within the Environmental Management department, you will work together with colleagues from Grounds, Legal Affairs, Supervision, and Tracing to ensure the safe and legally responsible operation of Gasunie's gas transport network.
The West department consists of approximately 40 employees who proactively act within projects and activities in the vicinity of their infrastructure to guarantee the safe location of the network.
You will focus on the legal framework within projects, permit management, advising on legal risks, and maintaining contact with authorized parties and contractors. In this way, you will contribute to strengthening the position of the infrastructure within spatial plans and permits.

Every year, approximately 125 billion cubic meters of natural gas flows through their network, almost a quarter of the total gas consumption in the European Union. Gasunie plays a crucial role in the energy transition. They are developing a national hydrogen and CCS network and working on regional networks for heat and green gas. Furthermore, Gasunie has a relational contract with all their partners in the project chain, which creates a new dynamics within the organization.

Your responsibilities
You bring your enthusiasm, knowledge, and skills together in this role:
- You are responsible for identifying and mitigating (project) risks related to environmental law.
- You make the legal framework clear and monitor it.
- You manage permit management and maintain contacts with authorized parties.
- You test and evaluate executing parties (contractors).
- You watch over the legal positioning of the gas transport infrastructure within spatial plans and environmental permits.
- You set views on and advise senior management about possible threats.
These tasks you will primarily perform within projects around the installation and maintenance of the pipeline network and related assets.
Your profile
- You have completed a HBO or WO degree, preferably in Law, Planning, or Public Administration.
- You possess at least two to five years of relevant work experience.
- You are able to make the interests of various (public) actors clear and identify and mitigate corresponding (project-)risks.
- You can start and successfully complete RO procedures and permit tracks independently.
- You know the current legislation in the field and can explain it to colleagues.
- You are communicatively strong in both word and writing.
- Social skills, planning, organization, result-oriented, persuasion power, and relationship management are competencies that characterize you.
