Azabu has long been a mainstay in the Mission Bay dining scene, serving sublime Japanese cuisine made with the finest local ingredients for years in an amazing beachside setting. Quietly winning awards and creating devotees.
Azabu’s menu combines Nikkei-influenced dishes and modern Japanese with an emphasis on the fun and the interesting.
The Opportunity
This is an incredible opportunity for someone experienced in venue management and events. Ideally, you will have 2+ years of experience in a comparable role within the hospitality industry, managing a team of 10+ people. You will have strong capabilities in running a restaurant, nurturing and training teams, rostering, and managing labour. Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and beverages would be an added advantage. You will also be an effective communicator with strong organisational skills, and an attention to detail with an eye for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

In this role you will be responsible for:
- Day to day operations and business performance
- Implementing standards across customer and team experience
- Creating exceptional customer experiences
- Effective financial management, ensuring costs are managed and budget expectations are met
- Accountable for effective stock management
- Effective people practices including, recruitment, onboarding, engagement, performance and offboarding
- Supporting with the training and development of junior staff members
