Job description

The PAUL Tech AG is a technology leader in the real estate industry with the mission to make existing buildings climate-neutral. Our solution PAUL Net Zero combines AI, IoT devices, and heat pumps into an intelligent system for CO2-neutral heat – without renovation effort or investment risk.

As Venture Development Manager, you will work directly with the management team (CEO, CFO, COO) and drive strategic projects across departments. This position is aimed at highly qualified talents with experience from top strategy consultancies, investment banks, private equity, or similar environments – with an MBA-caliber strategic background. From day one, you will take responsibility for initiatives in the areas of Operations, Sales, or Finance and act as an extended arm of the management team to accelerate PAUL's growth and scaling. In our very dynamic startup environment, this means understanding our business model as well as executing with speed and flexibility. In short: a 'Consider it done!' mentality.

Therefore, we are looking for you for our scaling as

Venture Development Manager (m/w/d) in Mannheim or Munich

Your key tasks include:

Strategic Initiatives

  • Take over projects from conception and analysis to operational implementation in various company departments (Operations, Finance, Sales, etc.)

Operational Excellence

  • Optimization of capacity planning and resource allocation in our projects (e.g., use of service providers on construction sites). Conducting cost optimization initiatives to further improve our cost per unit

Pricing & Sales Support

  • Development and design of our pricing model. Analysis of market and price data and representation of customer benefits (e.g., advantages for real estate portfolios)

Finance & Cash Flow

  • Transparency in cash flow and proactive management of exposure. Co-development of digital tools and processes for real-time tracking of payments, supplier payments, and project progress. Early detection of risks and coordination of countermeasures

Project Controlling & Value Engineering

  • Establishment of a seamless controlling for ongoing projects. Analysis of project and product costs, identification of value drivers, and implementation of best practices for continuous improvement of profitability and quality

Hands-on Problem Solver

  • You act as an entrepreneurial 'Troubleshooter' for urgent projects. Where perseverance is lacking, you take action – dive into details, structure the problem-solving process, and drive measures forward independently, without daily follow-up. You always set a good example and ensure that critical tasks are reliably completed

You bring:

Education & Experience

  • MBA and/or professional experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment at a top strategy consultancy, investment bank, private equity firm, or a demanding startup/scale-up. Strong inner drive and proven academic and professional performance

Analytical Strength

  • Excellent skills in analytical thinking, problem structuring, and financial modeling. The ability to set up efficient business processes and independently manage a P&L. You use data analysis to prepare informed decisions

Communication & Persuasion

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and self-assured handling of various stakeholders. You present complex topics clearly and persuasively and can influence teams across departments without formal leadership

Hands-on Mentality

  • Strong action-oriented and leadership qualities through active work. You roll up your sleeves and take responsibility, keeping the bigger picture in mind and motivating others by setting a good example

Entrepreneurial Thinking

  • Deep understanding of business models and financial drivers. You are familiar with KPIs (P&L, cash flow, ROI), can identify value drivers, and recognize opportunities for value engineering to balance costs, quality, and customer benefits. Experience in rapidly scaling structures and processes during growth phases is an advantage

Technical Understanding

  • Quick grasp of technical and product-related topics. Ideally, you bring a background or strong interest in our product to master interdisciplinary challenges at the interface of technology and business

Digital Skills

  • High affinity to data and digital tools in data analysis and automation; ideally, you bring experience with applications like Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Lovable, or n8n to efficiently structure complex datasets and automate operational processes. You adapt quickly to new digital systems to optimize workflows and achieve efficiency gains

Languages

  • Fluent in German and English, which enables you to work effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners

Personality

  • Strong self-initiative, resilience, and entrepreneurial drive. You think like an entrepreneur, act pragmatically, and remain calm in fast-paced, stressful environments. Independence, flexibility, and speed define your style – you want to drive things forward and deliver results

You can expect from us:

  • A sense-making job, which contributes to worldwide CO2 reduction
  • A collegial work atmosphere with short decision-making paths
  • A unlimited employment contract with above-average salary
  • 30 days of vacation per calendar year, plus additional December 24th and December 31st free
  • Company-sponsored private health insurance and old-age provision
  • Subsidy for company fitness in your region
  • Regular company events, to which you are warmly welcome
  • Germany ticket and beverages and fruit in our offices
