UX Designer (m/f/d)

We are WE BUILD AI from Cologne and build AI and data solutions for medium-sized businesses and corporations in Germany. We create systems that go into production and make or save money.

We started last year and grew by 160 percent. This year we are at 100 percent. We are building a company that will continue to grow in the coming years.

Why this role is different

You design solutions that go into production. With us, you lead Solution Design Sprints, from research to prototype, and shape user needs into a concept that the development team takes over.

Your concept decides whether a technically complex product ultimately works. And you work closely with clients, to whom you sometimes tell the uncomfortable truth.

Responsibilities

• You lead our Solution Design Sprints, from research through facilitation to the finished concept.
• You guide clients through uncertainty and moderate the path to a solution that can be built.
• You condense complex results into a clear story and build presentations that are content-wise at the right altitude.
• You develop user-centered concepts and prototypes that our team technically implements.
• You occasionally give workshops or training sessions for clients when a project requires it.
• You join pitches and offers with our Managing Director Frederic and bring in the content depth.

Qualifications

• Experience with user-centered work, for example in Service Design, Product Design, UX, or innovation processes.
• You ask good questions and stay in the problem space before jumping into solutions.
• You get to the point with complex results and tell them in a way that decision-makers can follow.
• You feel comfortable in front of clients, take a position, and sometimes say what doesn't work.
• An eye for how digital products look and function. You don't need pixel perfection for this.
• First contact with AI, or the honest curiosity to quickly get up to speed.
• Fluent German and good English, because our projects are in the DACH region.

This is how the application process works

Three steps, transparent and without surprises.

1. Get-to-know-you call with Frederic, approx. 30 minutes. We talk about you, about us, and see if the foundation is right.
2. Take-home assignment plus presentation in a call, 45 to 60 minutes. You work on an assignment that fits what you would actually do with us.
3. In-person meeting in Cologne. Joint meal, insights into our projects, and sparring with the team.
