Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our growing team. This role will be required to install, maintain and repair commercial air- conditioning and mechanical services systems and equipment.

Tasks Include:

• establishing job requirements from drawings and specifications, and laying out installation reference points
• drilling holes, installing mounting brackets and cutting, bending and threading piping
• installing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil and chilled water
• bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing pipes to connect equipment, and checking alignment and accuracy of fit
• filling systems with gas or fluid to check for leaks
• test-operating refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms and making adjustments
• removing test gas and fluid using pumps, and filling with refrigerant
• checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults and repairing and replacing defective components
• adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reassembling systems
• recording causes of malfunctioning and action taken

Skill and Qualifications:

• Trade Qualified, Cert III or above(desirable)
• At least one year of demonstrated experience
• Current driver's license or ability to obtain
• White Card or the ability to obtain.
• Working with Children's Card or ability to obtain

Desirable Experience and Licences:

• Full ARC (RAC) licence
• NT Restricted electrical licence
• High risk work license.

Mechanical Services Drafter

Tasks Include:

• Experienced within the HVAC industry
• Previous experience with AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP
• Previous experience with Camduct.
• Ability to detail Shop Drawings with a high level of accuracy
• The ability to meet drafting deadlines

Skill and Qualifications:

• An excellent understanding of Mechanical Services
• Ability to work well in both team and unsupervised environments
• Good time-management and record keeping skills
• A willingness to learn new skills outside your existing skill base

Desirable Experience and Licences:

• An NT driver licence and a White Card

Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator’s role is a high-level position within the construction division of United. You will be responsible for the complete management of the Tendering department including providing all take-offs, cost estimates, RFIs, review of cost exclusions, Quote letters, Response Schedules, Draft Construction Programmes, bid submissions and all follow ups. Successful applicants would have the following:

Tasks Include:

• The complete management from start to finish of each tender.
• Interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Complete take-offs for all mech equipment and services.
• Develop RFIs and investigate scope gaps.
• Identify possible variations.
• Reviewing scope of works & contracts.
• Preparation of Quote folders, Job Folders.
• Preparation of quote break downs and costs.
• Prepare all bid submissions and submit to Director for review.
• Bid submissions and client follow up.
• Preparation and ongoing management of tender lists and contractor contact details.

Skill and Qualifications:

• Proven Senior estimation experience.
• HVAC operation and design knowledge.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Outstanding time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An ability to prioritise required tasks.
• An excellent work ethic.
• The ability to work well in both team and unsupervised environments.
• Ability to achieve a Police clearance.
• Well presented with a friendly approach.

Desirable Experience and Licences:

• A manual open NT driver licence.
• A White Card.

Electrician

Tasks Include:

• Execute plans such as blueprints and specifications of electrical wiring for well-functioning electrical systems and operations.
• Install electrical apparatus and fixtures including measurements of installation references points and ability to connect wiring to relevant terminals.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to trace and diagnose faults and repair issues
• Installing electrical switchboards and connect systems to power supply

Skill and Qualifications:

• NT Electrical Licence (or eligible via mutual recognition)
• Trade qualification as a licensed electrician.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current NT electrical license and relevant certifications.
• White Card and valid driver’s license.

Sheetmetal worker

Tasks Include:

• Fabrication and welding using Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel
• Operating machinery such as Press Brake, Guillotine, and Sheet Metal Rollers
• Measuring, marking out, and cutting accurately from drawings and designs
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
• Performing a variety of fabrication tasks and on-site installations
• Ensuring all work meets high standards of quality and safety
• Assisting in the manufacture and installation of air-conditioning ductwork and components

Skill and Qualifications:

• White Card and valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience in sheet metal work or duct fabrication.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and relevant Australian standards.
• Competence in the use of hand tools, folding machines, guillotines, and fabrication equipment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
