Underwriter - Credit and Political Risk

Job Description We are looking for an Underwriter who can be responsible for originating, underwriting and monitoring a diversified portfolio of credit and political risk insurance exposures across Asia Pacific. In this role you will work as part of an experienced global underwriting team to originate, underwrite and manage a portfolio of risks in accordance with a defined risk framework and global risk appetite. The role requires the ability to apply creative underwriting judgement to evolving market conditions, regulatory changes and emerging trends. You will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and other stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and build a pipeline of potential deals. This will involve conducting thorough credit assessments, reviewing financial statements, and analyzing industry trends to determine the likelihood of repayment or default. In addition, you will need to stay up-to-date with market developments, regulatory changes and emerging trends in order to maintain a deep understanding of the risks and opportunities in the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk assessment, political risk insurance and/or trade finance, and be able to demonstrate a track record of successful underwriting and portfolio management. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different cultures and time zones.
