Job description

Introduction

We are looking for new colleagues! Migrando is a legal tech company from Cottbus. We have made it our mission to make the complicated and lengthy naturalization process more efficient and customer-friendly. With our expertise in immigration law, our legal competence, and a strong team of numerous employees, we successfully support thousands of clients on their path to German citizenship. It's best to get an insight right away at migrando(.)de/karriere, our career page. Because we can write whatever we want here, in the end it remains a boring introduction.

We don't care what certificates you have or where you studied. What interests us: What can you really do? Those who have worked in practice for years and gained hands-on experience bring more than any course completion. We are looking for colleagues who, ideally, have several years of experience and are ready to take responsibility.

What We Offer You

Our product is purely digital – this means every design decision is measurable, every improvement immediately visible. You won't be working in the dark, but with real user data, real traffic, and real feedback. And you won't just be designing for the outside: our internal tools and workflows also need someone who keeps the user experience in mind.

  • High-End Hardware of Your Choice
Whether it's a MacBook or a Windows Tower. You get the machine on which you perform best, including 4K monitors.
  • Large Reach
Over the years, we have already reached a great many people with our platform. This amount of real traffic means for you: you see the impact of your work quickly – and can learn from it just as quickly.
  • Real Responsibility
You are not an implementer of others' ideas. You can bring your own perspectives, make design decisions based on data, and have a direct line to other teams and management.
  • Small Teams Instead of Open-Plan Offices
You work in manageable teams where people know each other and can quickly get into conversation.
  • Music at Work
We don't frown when you put on headphones. If it helps you (and doesn't bother anyone else), you can also pump heavy metal through a sound system at your desk.
  • Modern Old Building Office in the Heart of Cottbus
High ceilings, plenty of natural light, plants in the rooms, and an inner courtyard for breaks. You can get a glimpse of our premises on our website.
  • Ergonomic Workplace with Modern Equipment
Back-friendly chair, height-adjustable table, two large monitors, a high-quality headset, a powerful laptop, and a quiet environment.
  • Home Office Option
Fundamentally, we work in the office because collaboration and exchange on-site are important to us. At the same time, working from home is possible at any time. Even spontaneously and without long coordination.
  • Trust-Based Working Hours Without Core Hours
We don't have prescribed time slots during which you must be present.
  • Flexible Part-Time Models
Whether it's a 4-day week, 30 hours, or an individual model. Your job should fit your life, not the other way around.
  • Take Spontaneous Vacation
Sometimes you just need a break. We plan our teams so that spontaneous days off are possible, without stress or guilt.
  • Family-Friendly Culture
Sick children, parent-teacher evening, or a short-notice doctor's appointment – we know that such situations are part of everyday life. Family and health take priority here.
  • Short Communication Channels
Here you don't have to navigate through hierarchies or write long emails to be heard. You can talk directly to colleagues, team leads, or management at any time. Decisions are made quickly, exchange is direct, and no one sits “in an ivory tower.”
  • Shape Instead of Just Execute
We are looking for colleagues who think along. If you have an idea how a process can run better, a tool would be useful, or a workflow could function more smartly, then you will be heard.
  • Meaningful Work
Your activity has a direct impact on people's lives. You help them to arrive in Germany, find security, and start a new chapter. This is not dry office work – it is work with real meaning and tangible impact.
  • Feel-Good Offers On-Site
Our Feel-Good Manager regularly provides short breaks – from neck and shoulder massages to short relaxation and beauty sessions to moments to take a breath.
  • Regular Team Events
We like to celebrate. Summer party by the lake, cozy Christmas party, Halloween bash, joint lunches, or after-work dinners with the department. Our events ensure that we grow together as a team and can put everyday work aside for a while. But don't worry: attendance is not mandatory, and leaving early is also not a problem.
  • In-House Fitness Room
Our own fitness room is available to you directly in the building – free of charge, well-equipped, and accessible at any time.

Possible Areas of Responsibility

How do users behave on our website? Where do they drop off, where do they hesitate, where do they not understand what to do next? These questions drive you – and you answer them not with gut feeling, but with method.

  • Concept & Design of User Interfaces
You create (or are involved in creating) wireframes and prototypes in Figma – for our main websites, landing pages, and apps.
  • User Journey Mapping & Optimization
You analyze the entire customer journey – from the first click to successful naturalization and customer review – and ensure that unnecessary friction points, contact requests, and concerns disappear.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization
You plan, implement, and analyze A/B tests (e.g., for optimizing forms or call-to-actions) to increase the completion rate.
  • Design System Management
You further develop our central design system in Figma, maintain it, and evolve it together with the frontend team to ensure everything remains consistent and scalable.
  • Development of Mobile Experiences
You ensure that all interfaces function perfectly on mobile devices – with a mobile-first approach, focus on touch interactions, and optimal performance (Can the website be satisfactorily used by a user commuting to work?).
  • Usability Testing & Research
You are the contact person for usability testing (eye-tracking analyses, user interviews, regular discussions with other customer-facing teams) so that our design decisions are based on real data and user feedback.
  • Collaboration with Marketing & Content
You collaborate with the marketing team to implement visually strong landing pages, campaigns, and social media graphics. You know what appeals to users and moves them, and where their concerns lie.
  • Tracking & Data Analysis
You set up tracking events (e.g., via Google Analytics, HubSpot) or help evaluate them to derive design decisions from real usage data.
  • Process Optimization & UX Standards
You develop standards, templates, and workflows that make design work more efficient for the entire team.

Your Profile

No certificate in the world replaces real experience and know-how from practice. That's exactly what we're looking for. Whether you've proven your skills on the job, in personal projects, or on your own initiative – what interests us is what you can really do and how you think. Direct communication and hands-on experience are more important to us than any degree. We are looking for colleagues who, ideally, have several years of experience and are ready to take responsibility.

  • Confident Use of UX Methods
You master User-Centered Design – and don't think UX is a synonym for “beautiful design.”
  • Experience in UX Research
You have already been involved in interviews, usability tests, or evaluations.
  • Ideally First Experiences with Figma
Auto Layout, components, prototyping, and design system elements are your daily tools (or you have no difficulty learning them).
  • Practical Experience in UI/UX Design
You have designed websites or web apps and are familiar with the typical challenges of digital products (or can acquire this knowledge independently).
  • Design Sensitivity
You recognize good typography, clear layouts, strong contrasts, and a modern look-and-feel at first glance.
  • Understanding of Microinteractions
You know how small animations and interactions can improve the user experience.
  • Basic Knowledge of Frontend
Not a must, but helpful – you understand HTML/CSS/JS to the extent that you can plan designs with technical considerations.
  • Team Spirit & Humor
You prefer to work collaboratively, think user-centrically – and bring a good dose of cheerfulness.
  • No Formal Requirements
You don't need a degree or 30 further training courses. We want to find talent and capable new colleagues. Even if you don't meet all the points here – we are looking for experienced and responsible colleagues, ideally you have been active in the field for many years and have gained many learnings. Because that's exactly what interests us: clean, long-term robust problem solutions. And you usually only get those after learning them the hard way for some time.
  • Easy Communication
You are communicative and open. Actually, we don't want to write generic things here, but this point is important. Good collaboration often outweighs pure know-how. A colleague with whom collaboration is pleasant and smooth can be more valuable in everyday life than someone with more know-how with whom communication is rather sluggish.
  • German or English
You speak German or English, or ideally both (approx. B2 level). Don't worry, we don't expect proof of language level.
