NIS2 Consultant

Job description

We are looking for a NIS2 Consultant. As a NIS2 consultant, you will independently give shape to various strategic security issues surrounding NIS2, with a focus on supplier management. You will design and deliver a project or work package that includes, among other things, policy documents in the context of NIS2 and supplier management. Your tasks include at least providing:
  • Policy documents in the context of NIS2 and supplier management.
  • Proposals for related processes and controls towards control owners.
  • Setting up testing and monitoring instruments.
Although you are not a technical specialist, you have sufficient technical knowledge and insight to advise and inspire colleagues in implementing new security measures. You stimulate and advise colleagues on translating policy into practical solutions. Cooperation, persuasiveness, and the ability to involve others in the change process are essential. Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of the NIS2 work package, including supplier management.
  • You will work together with the Procurement and Contract Management department to present and sharpen supplier management processes, contracts, and systems.
  • You ensure that new and existing suppliers comply with security requirements and are demonstrably tested and monitored.
  • You organize commitment and support among stakeholders, including communication and awareness.
  • You report periodically to the client about progress and the interdependencies between work packages.

  • With natural authority and a clear vision, you keep the balance between the strict demands of NIS2, the dynamic environment of the Utrecht Safety Region, and the practical reality of budget and user-friendliness, without losing power or persuasion.
  • You communicate clearly, persuasively, and creates commitment among diverse stakeholders.
  • You are organizationally sensitive and understand how interests, priorities, and decision-making within the Utrecht Safety Region come together.
  • You keep an overview in a complex environment and can separate main from secondary issues.
  • You analyze issues sharply and translate these into clear, executable frameworks.
Organization The Utrecht Safety Region is a collaboration of and for all 26 municipalities in the province of Utrecht. They ensure daily safety for all people living and staying in the region. This happens with centralists at the 112 emergency center, firefighters, and colleagues from risk management, crisis management, and the healthcare organization in the region.
