Daily, you have a lot of contact with all sorts of different people. Tourists, commuters, students, day-trippers with diverse backgrounds and ages step on board. All on their way to their own destination. And you help them get there. You do this in a welcoming and friendly manner, maintaining professionalism, of course, but with enough room for a personal touch.

A tram driver is never alone

As a tram driver, you never truly work alone. Often, you work with a tram conductor. Together, you are a team and ensure that the journey goes smoothly. Additionally, a whole team supports you. Think of traffic control, the team management, planners, and of course, other fellow tram drivers and conductors. You meet them on the road and during your breaks at one of the 'end points' in the city. We are proud of this team spirit, which allows us to work together with great pleasure to keep Amsterdam accessible.

What you bring

You have a great sense of responsibility and are stress-resistant. In addition, you:

• Are at least 18 years old and – due to safety requirements – between 1.65 and 2.00 meters tall;
• Have at least MBO level 3 work and thinking ability;
• Speak Dutch well and are eligible for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG);
• Can see traffic, colors, and signals excellently (with or without glasses or contact lenses).

What we offer you

• Signing Bonus: Temporarily, we offer you a signing bonus of €1,500 net for the position of tram driver (under certain conditions)
• A Clear Schedule: You have a clear schedule with flexible shifts of a maximum of 8.45 hours. During your work experience phase, you will be scheduled based on your availability. With this clarity about your working hours, you can well balance your work and private life.
• Excellent Remuneration: A good salary of €2,658 – €3,260 based on 40 hours per week. On top of this, you receive allowances for working irregular hours and you will receive 8% holiday pay and a 13th month's salary.
• Contribution to Amsterdam: Amsterdam is getting busier. Public transport is indispensable for keeping Amsterdam accessible. As a tram driver, you contribute every day to a sustainable and accessible city for everyone.
