Daily you have a lot of contact with all sorts of different people. Tourists, commuters, schoolchildren, day-trippers with diverse backgrounds and ages get on. All on their way to their own destination. And you help them get there. You do this in a hospitable and friendly manner, while of course maintaining a professional attitude, but with enough room for a personal touch.

A tram driver is never alone

As a tram driver, you never really work alone. You often work with a tram conductor. Together you are a team and ensure that the journey runs smoothly. In addition, a whole team stands by your side. Think of traffic control, the management team, planners, and of course other fellow tram drivers and conductors. You meet them on the road and during your breaks at one of the 'terminals' in the city. We are proud of this team spirit, which allows us to work together with great pleasure towards an accessible Amsterdam.

What you bring

You have a great sense of responsibility and are stress-resistant. In addition, you:

• Are at least 18 years old and – due to safety requirements – between 1.65 and 2.00 meters tall;
• Have at least MBO level 3 work and thinking ability;
• Speak Dutch well and are eligible for a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG);
• Can see traffic, colors, and signals excellently (possibly with glasses or lenses).

What we offer you

• Signing Bonus: Temporarily, we offer you a signing bonus of €1,500 net for the position of tram driver (under conditions)
• A clear schedule: You have a clear schedule with flexible shifts of a maximum of 8.45 hours. During your work experience phase, you will be scheduled based on your availability. With this clarity about your working hours, you can effectively balance your work and private life.
• Excellent remuneration: A good salary of € 2,658 – € 3,260 based on 40 hours per week. In addition to this, you will receive allowances for working irregular hours and you will receive 8% holiday pay and a 13th month's salary.
• Contribution to Amsterdam: Amsterdam is becoming increasingly busy. Public transport is indispensable to keep Amsterdam accessible. As a tram driver, you contribute every day to a sustainable and accessible city for everyone.
