Trainee Frontend Development (m/f/d)

You don't just want to learn Frontend, you want to apply it to real projects. With us, you'll be involved from day one, supported, but not sidelined. 

BRANDUNG is an independent digital agency in Berlin. We develop websites, shops, and applications: for well-known brands as well as NGOs and non-profit organizations. Work is done in teams consisting of Frontend, Backend, Design, and Project Management. As a trainee, you will work in exactly these teams, with a dedicated mentor from the Frontend team by your side.

What awaits you

• A 12-month trainee program with a clear development plan and the goal of permanent employment
• Dedicated mentors, regular feedback sessions, time for learning within the daily work routine
• Modern stack: TypeScript, React with Next.js (App Router) or Vue with Nuxt 3
• Code reviews as standard, tests as standard, no makeshift solutions
• AI-assisted development as the norm, not an experiment: We work intensively with AI, and you will learn to use it cleanly and critically from the start

• You will develop components and interfaces for our clients' websites, shops, and applications
• You will grow from individual components to entire features
• You will write tests and participate in code reviews, as an author and as a reviewer
• You will pay attention to accessibility and performance, because both are part of the craft
• You will work in an agile project team with Backend, Design, and Project Management

• Solid HTML and CSS knowledge and a feel for when markup is clean
• JavaScript fundamentals: you understand what your code does, not just that it runs
• First exposure to React or Vue, whether from studies, bootcamp, retraining, or personal projects
• Curiosity about AI tools and the willingness to question their results instead of blindly accepting them
• Enthusiasm for feedback and the ability to ask questions before getting stuck
• German at a very good level, English for reading documentation
• Formal degrees are less important to us than what you can show. A GitHub profile, a side project, or a bootcamp thesis say more than a certificate.

• The Frontend department at BRANDUNG comprises over 30 developers in several teams, each with its own team lead. This means there is always more than one contact person for your questions.
• Together on-site, flexible for the rest of the week. At least two days a week we work together in the Berlin office; you can manage the rest of your time yourself. The office days are intentionally designed as collaborative days: especially during the trainee period, you learn significantly faster through direct exchange. Our in-house chef cooks lunch every day, freshly prepared.
• Quality is an integral part of our process. Code reviews, automated tests with mandatory coverage limits, static code analysis, and error monitoring are standard in every project. You will work according to these standards from the beginning, rather than having to acquire them later.
• We develop our AI tools ourselves. Our code review agent and our ticket automation are in-house developments rather than purchased tools. Those who wish to contribute to this will find the opportunity, even as a trainee.
• Your development is structured. In addition to mentoring, you will have regular development discussions with your team lead: status assessment, goals, specific needs. In addition, there is a Frontend format where colleagues present their current work. Initially as an audience member, later with your own contributions.
