Job Description : Road Traffic Controller
We are looking for a skilled Road Traffic Controller to manage and direct road traffic and pedestrian flows on, near, or adjacent to roads. This role is crucial during road closures or part road closures due to construction, maintenance, public events, or emergency responses. The successful candidate will utilize signs and devices to ensure the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians.
Key Responsibilities
- Traffic Direction: Manually direct traffic and pedestrian flow to maintain safety and efficient movement, particularly during road closures or events.
- Safety Management: Implement and monitor the use of signs, devices, and barriers to ensure the safety of all road users.
- Situation Response: Respond effectively to emergencies and accidents, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
- Communication: Provide clear instructions and information to motorists and pedestrians to enhance safety and reduce congestion.
- Reporting: Keep accurate records of traffic control activities, incidents, and daily operations to assess performance and improve processes.
- Specialization: May work in various settings, including public events and construction sites, adapting to specific traffic management needs.
- Coordination with Authorities: Collaborate with local police, construction crews, and event organizers to facilitate smooth traffic movement.
Requirements - Certification:
- Valid TC2/TMI2 or WZ2 and WZ3 Traffic Management Tickets (These are essential for working on Category 2 roads)
- White card
- NT Driving license
Job type: Fulltime
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
