The Role:

We have a great opportunity for someone to join our team in the role of a Traffic Management Operative. This is a fixed term position, based in Whitianga, with the objective to work on and support the successful delivery of traffic management plans, liaise with key stakeholders and to ensure compliance across Civtec and subcontractor sites.


As a Traffic Management Operative, you will be responsible for the following:

  • The installation, maintenance, removal and recording of temporary traffic management and control systems
  • Working unsupervised for all general traffic management duties which you will be trained for and be competent to undertake as part of a team
  • Understand and practice traffic management operations as per current standards
  • Practice site safety management for all road users, clients & employees
  • Practice traffic management operations as delegated by the STMS, or Manager
  • Ensure compliance with Civtec, Worksafe and NZTA standards.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates with:

  • TMO Practising Qualification
  • Experience in the traffic management industry
  • TTM Planner (desirable)
  • Full driver’s license class 1 and 2 is essential
  • Sound understanding and working knowledge of NZGTTM
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy with experience using digital drawing programs and MS Office.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Be a team player whilst having the capability to work unsupervised
