Tools and Automation Lead

Job Summary: The Tools & Automation Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the tooling ecosystem that supports job scheduling, monitoring, and operational visibility. This role focuses on driving the reliability and efficiency of IT operations by leading the integration and optimization of tools that enhance infrastructure performance. Reporting to the Operations & Performance Director, the lead will manage the Tools & Automation Engineer, set strategic goals for the team, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have experience in tooling ecosystem design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include: • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive tooling ecosystem that supports job scheduling, monitoring, and operational visibility. • Lead the integration and optimization of tools that enhance infrastructure performance. • Manage the Tools & Automation Engineer, providing guidance, support, and feedback. • Set strategic goals for the team and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize tooling ecosystem requirements. • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure timely delivery of tools and services. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the field of IT operations and automation, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the organization. • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards for tooling ecosystem design, implementation, and maintenance. • Provide technical guidance and support to other teams and stakeholders as needed. • Participate in the development of the organization's technology strategy and roadmap. • Collaborate with IT operations team to identify and prioritize automation opportunities. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of tools and their usage within the organization. • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards for tooling ecosystem design, implementation, and maintenance.
