Toolmaker

RPO's client is seeking a Toolmaker to join their team in the Eastern Cape. The company specializes in manufacturing automotive components and requires a skilled individual to maintain and repair production tooling, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and production processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, repair, and maintain tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies used in the production of automotive components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on all tooling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, including modifications and improvements as needed.
• Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure tools are operating efficiently and safely.
• Assist in the design and development of new tools and fixtures as required.
• Ensure all tooling is compliant with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Keep accurate records of all tool maintenance and repairs performed.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance tooling efficiency.

Requirements:

• Trade Test Certification as a Toolmaker or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a toolmaker, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and machine tools.
• Experience with the maintenance and repair of high-volume production tooling.
• Strong understanding of tool design, machining processes, and material properties.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
