Supervisor Building and Housing Supervision

Are you looking for a fun job within a challenging field? For the Environmental Supervision team, we are looking for a Supervisor Building and Housing Supervision for 36 hours per week.

As a Supervisor Building and Housing Supervision, you will work with the Environmental Supervision team. Together with the other supervisors of building and housing supervision, the supervisors of trees and markets, and the community police officers, you will ensure supervision of the public space. With your professional knowledge, you will contribute to the liveability and safety in our beautiful municipality.

This is what you will do
You will be involved in the supervision and enforcement of laws and regulations for construction, demolition, and planning-contrary use. You will identify violations in procedures or execution. Do you identify a violation? Then you will be jointly responsible for a proper solution. This can be "a good conversation," but also imposing a construction stop or applying administrative coercion. Administrative coercion will always be in consultation with our legal advisors.

What else will you do?

• You will check if construction is being carried out according to the granted environmental permit.
• You will identify discrepancies during construction with planning, structural, and safety regulations.
• You will supervise existing construction, illegal construction, fire safety of existing construction, and permit-free construction activities.
• You will enforce detected violations.
• You will liaise with and report to our legal advisors if the application of administrative coercion is necessary.
• You will ensure the administrative processing of permits in the construction registration system.

This is you
You are proactive and have excellent oral and written communication skills. You easily establish contact internally and externally to gather information or provide advice. Your advice and reports are meticulous, clear, and well-founded.

What else do we ask?

• You are an enthusiastic, energetic, and robust personality.
• You have an MBO or HBO diploma in construction technology, supplemented with ABW 1 and 2 (or are willing to pursue them) and a B driver's license.
• You have up-to-date knowledge of environmental law and are curious about developments such as the Environmental Act and the Quality Assurance Act for Construction, and are willing to follow training on these.
• You preferably have several years of experience in a similar role.
• You maintain an overview, work systematically and structurally, are persistent, and think in terms of solutions.
• Working together is natural for you, but you can also work well independently.
• You can empathize with others, are customer-oriented, have good communication skills, and are politically sensitive.
• In difficult situations, you keep a cool head and find the best solution.

• You start with a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent employment.
• We will determine the gross salary based on your knowledge and experience, and it is a maximum of € 5,096,- (function scale 9) based on a 36-hour workweek.
• An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17.05%. You can have the IKB paid out or spend it on additional leave, training or education, and supplementing your travel expenses.
