Responsibilities include pre-event preparation, organizing and loading equipment for transportation to the event, onsite setup and takedown of timing equipment, and working with software to prepare race results for participants. Individuals who display a growth-mindset, are tech-savvy, analytic and detailed-oriented will excel and SQL in this position. Ensuring accurate race results is a vital aspect of the job. This position involves early morning weekend work, with the possibility of weekday hours. Flexibility and reliability are essential. Many events include travel, at no cost to the individual.
EXPECTATIONS:● Knowledge of RFID and all necessary equipment and software related to timing.● An interest in the race management and timing industry.● Available weekends and extended hours as needed.● Appear professionally dressed and groomed. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Provide timing & management services for Track & Field, Cross Country, Road Races and other events.● Setup and breakdown of timing equipment including cameras, computer.● Communicate with Timing Results staff, race directors and other personnel to fully understand requirements and clarify expectations.● Use Timing and scoring software for data pushing and to generate and print results.● Use troubleshooting skills to identify and solve networking, software and hardware problems.● Upload results to website and send to race director.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES ● Graduation or above● Work in team environment as well as ability to work independently with little direction● Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly troubleshoot problems● Experience in computer networking● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills● Strong organizational and time management skills● Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a stressful environment● Be adaptable to changing priorities and schedules● Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data, in various formats● Strong customer service skill.
