Aufgaben

As Tierheimleiter (m/w/d) you are the link between animal, human, and team. You keep the operation running, keep an eye on things, and ensure that every animal receives the best possible care. Your work has a direct impact on happy animals, people who adopt our residents, and a motivated team that works together towards a goal. The following tasks await you:

• Organization and leadership of the animal shelter – ideally full-time
• Leadership of three employees, guidance of volunteers, and possibly participants in the Federal Voluntary Service
• Careful care of animals during the day
• Ensuring veterinary care through a contract veterinarian
• Administration, documentation, and communication with the Veterinary Office
• Contact person for interested parties and animal placement
• Management of buildings and outdoor areas

In this role, it's about your values, personality, and experience: You lead the team with responsibility, enthusiasm, and empathy, contribute to the development of the animal shelter, and set yourself daily for the welfare of the animals. Additionally, you bring the following qualities:

• Completed training as an animal caretaker (animal shelter & pension), veterinary medical assistant, or comparable qualification (all m/w/d)
• Desirable work experience in leading employees
• Organizational talent, stress tolerance, and sense of responsibility
• Driver's license class B and willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
• Communication strength and empathy in dealing with employees, volunteers, and visitors
• Passion, enthusiasm for taking on tasks
