Theatre Nurse - Orthopaedics

About the Role
Step into a theatre nursing role where you can sharpen your skills, work alongside a high-performing team, and play a key part in delivering excellent perioperative care. You'll scrub and circulate across a variety of orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacements and spinal surgeries, in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday roster, offering flexible 6, 8, or 10-hour shifts with staggered start times between 07:00 and 12:00, finishing no later than 20:30. Some on-call and weekend lists will also be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery
- Scrub, circulate, and assist during elective orthopaedic procedures
- Monitor patients throughout their theatre journey, supporting complex clinical situations and emergencies
- Evaluate patient care effectiveness and adjust interventions as needed
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth theatre operations
About You
You are a confident theatre nurse with experience in orthopaedics and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care. You'll have:
- Current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
- Recent experience scrubbing and circulating for joint replacements and/or spinal surgery in NZ or comparable health systems (Australia, UK, Ireland)
- Strong clinical knowledge, advanced assessment skills, and the ability to respond to complex situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, flexible approach with a focus on best-practice perioperative care
