About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Network Planner to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, planning, and developing efficient telecommunications networks that align with business and client requirements. The role involves assessing network infrastructure, preparing design documentation, and coordinating implementation to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing telecommunications network infrastructure, including copper, fibre, and wireless systems.

• Preparing network diagrams, plans, and detailed technical documentation using CAD or other design tools.

• Analysing existing network performance and recommending system upgrades or redesigns to improve efficiency and capacity.

• Liaising with clients, engineers, and contractors to determine technical and operational requirements.

• Estimating material, labour, and time requirements for network installation and maintenance projects.

• Ensuring compliance with Australian communications and safety standards (ACMA and other regulatory frameworks).

• Conducting site surveys, feasibility studies, and risk assessments prior to implementation.

• Monitoring the installation and commissioning of new network systems to ensure design specifications are met.

• Maintaining accurate project records, reports, and performance data to support operational decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in telecommunications network planning or related engineering roles.

• Sound knowledge of network topology, fibre optic systems, wireless communications, and transmission principles.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
