Telecom Design Engineer

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design telecom network infrastructure (fiber, RF, copper, wireless) for new and existing projects.


• Prepare detailed design drawings, route maps, schematics, and technical documentation using AutoCAD or GIS tools.


• Perform site surveys and analyze field data to develop cost-effective and compliant designs.


• Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and field technicians to ensure alignment between design and implementation.


• Ensure compliance with national/international telecom standards and client requirements.


• Support the preparation of bills of materials (BoMs), design estimates, and tender documentation.


• Provide technical guidance during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.


• Keep up to date with latest technologies and regulations in the telecom sector.


• Participate in quality assurance processes and design reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.


• 2–5 years of experience in telecom infrastructure/network design.


• Proficiency in design tools like AutoCAD, GIS, MicroStation, or similar.


• Knowledge of fiber optics, FTTx, RF, IP networks, or mobile communication systems.


• Familiarity with network planning tools and software is a plus (e.g., MapInfo, ArcGIS, OSP Insight).
