Tool Room Technician - Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

At TekniPlex Healthcare, we are seeking specialized talent to join our team as a Tool Room Technician. This position is responsible for ensuring the correct maintenance, repair, and adjustment of plastic injection molds, guaranteeing their optimal performance in production, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the quality of the final product.

Required Profile

General Job Description

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities on plastic injection molds, diagnosing failures, carrying out repairs and adjustments, as well as collaborating with production areas to guarantee operational continuity and product quality within a regulated manufacturing environment.


Education

• Technical degree in Machinery and Tools, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field (desirable).

Experience

• Experience in maintenance of plastic injection molds (desirable).



Specific Knowledge, Training, and Skills

  1. Knowledge of mold steels and heat treatments.
  2. Skill in the use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, among others).
  3. Reading and interpretation of blueprints.
  4. Knowledge of plastic injection processes (desirable).
  5. Ability to work under pressure.
  6. Ability to work in a team.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molds.
  2. Diagnose mold failures, including wear, leaks, misalignments, and cavity damage.
  3. Disassemble, clean, repair, and assemble molds according to technical specifications.
  4. Adjust critical components such as cores, cavities, ejectors, slides, and cooling systems.
  5. Interpret technical blueprints, mechanical drawings, and tolerances.
  6. Operate workshop machinery such as surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, and polishing equipment.
  7. Perform cavity polishing to meet required finishes.
  8. Ensure proper storage and control of molds and spare parts.
  9. Document work performed through maintenance and repair logs.
  10. Collaborate with the production area for troubleshooting machine issues.
  11. Propose improvements to optimize the lifespan and performance of molds.

Languages

• Spanish required.

• Basic English desirable.
