Mechanical Maintenance Technician

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Perform mechanical maintenance service for high, medium, and low criticality machinery and equipment. Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance when necessary, adhering to the maintenance plan, and complying with the plant's safety, quality, and environmental guidelines. Perform inspection routines in different plant areas to maintain equipment availability and process continuity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventive, unscheduled corrective, and scheduled corrective mechanical maintenance of the plant's machinery and equipment to ensure production continuity and maintain optimal operating conditions.
- Perform inspection routines on the plant's mechanical systems and in various processes to anticipate any undesirable downtime due to potential mechanical damage.
- Perform predictive maintenance when necessary.
- Manage various repairs such as welding and machining with trained personnel who can provide support.
- Conduct walkthroughs to detect any unsafe condition in equipment or areas that could jeopardize the safety of operational personnel or process continuity.
- Perform 5S in the mechanical workshop each shift.
- Ensure workplace safety by complying with safety regulations and participating in daily safety meetings to prevent incidents and accidents in the plant.
EDUCATION
Training in mechanics, electromechanics, or related fields.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of gearmotors and various types of transmissions.
- Knowledge of grain conveying systems by belt, chain, mills, rotary valves, and bucket elevators.
- Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
- Basic knowledge of electric motors.
- Proficiency in using calipers, interpreting flow diagrams, and calculating pulleys and sprockets.
- Basic computer skills and MS Office suite proficiency.
